Published in February 2021, IEEE 802.11ax (WiFi 6) is a version that improves on the IEEE 802.11ac standard.
Speeds are 4 times higher than IEEE 802.11ac, even though nominal throughput is only 37% higher at most.
Speeds are thus around 9.6 Gbps.
Latency is also 75% lower.

But above all, Wi-Fi 6 aims to reduce congestion with multiple devices connected to the same hub at the same time.
They therefore aim to improve connection points in dense areas such as shopping malls, airports, etc.
